AMP-forming acetyl-CoA synthetase is regulated by lysine acetylation - joint article published in Nature Communications

The excellent cooperation between the groups of Mihaela Delcea, Uwe Bornscheuer and Michael Lammers enabled to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of the enzyme AMP-forming acetyl-CoA synthetase by lysine acetylation using acetyl-CoA or acetyl-phosphate as donor molecule.

This was achieved by conducting biochemical and structural biological methods, MD-simulations and by applying methods of artificial intelligence performing structure predictions using AlphaFold2. The paper is published in open access format in Nature Communications see here:
