By signing the Berlin Declaration and its Open Access Policy, the University of Greifswald has made a clear commitment to free access to scientific knowledge and is actively involved in shaping transformation processes in scientific publishing.

The University Library is committed to free access to scientific knowledge and encourages open access publishing by offering information, funding as well as publishing opportunities.

Members of the University of Greifswald have access to a DFG-funded open access publication fund to finance publication fees in open access journals.
