Room Information System (V:Scout)

The Room Information System V:Scout provides a virtual ground plan of the University Library´s facilities, which makes it easier to find resources and services.

The system can be accessed and used at any time and on any device connected to the internet (laptop, PC, smartphone, tablet).

To make finding books easier, the online catalogue (OPAC) and the Discovery System are equipped with links to maps that show the way to the right shelf.

Since August 1, 2024 carrels, study rooms and cubes can be conveniently reserved online in the V:Scout room booking module. The system is starting in a test phase and is being continuously optimized.

All library locations are now visible in a common access and as 2D building plans and in 3D representation. The Old UB is now also included.

Accessible room plans: All room plans have been supplemented with switchable high-contrast views to improve usability for people with limited vision.

Improved wayfinder: Optimized route guidance makes orientation easier. In barrier-free mode, route guidance is primarily via lifts and ramps for people with limited mobility. Directions also help you find your way around and are optimized for use with screen readers.

Further information on how to use the Room Information System can be found on V:Scout´s website via the help button in the left navigation bar.
