The M.Sc. in Earth Sciences was incredibly interesting and engaging!

It took me a while to decide to leave Italy and embark on a new adventure thousands of kilometers away from home, but in the end, I did it. I must be honest, moving to Germany was also driven by my passion for electronic music, but it was a fantastic surprise to find an M.Sc. in Earth Sciences entirely in English at the University of Greifswald, especially since no university in Berlin offered the same program!

Arriving in Greifswald at the end of the Covid emergency, without knowing any German, wasn't exactly smooth sailing, but the welcoming atmosphere at the university and the large community of young people, many of whom are international, made me feel at home right away. The city is very manageable, surrounded by greenery, and the sea is just a step away. And even though it's quiet, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun—you just need to know where to find them!

The Master’s degree program in Earth Sciences was incredibly interesting and engaging, with countless opportunities to put into practice what we studied, both in the lab and in the field. I particularly appreciated the courses in hydrogeology and geochemistry, which helped me deepen my knowledge and acquire practical skills with various software. Thanks to what I learned, I was able to develop my thesis in collaboration with an international project in the geothermal field, which opened the doors to the world of research and inspired me to start a Ph.D.

Because in the end, Greifswald gives you everything you're looking for!
